Plenty of movie trailers will be rolling out during the Super Bowl this Sunday, but some studios are already putting their TV spots online. Case in point, the latest trailer for Terminator: Genisys, which opens with a motorcycle on a train and a schoolbus flipping end over end on the Golden Gate Bridge.
Can we talk about the annoying “ack ack ack” background noise in this trailer? It sounds like the Mars Attacks aliens. Is it the new slowed-down songs, which were themselves the new BRAAAHM?
Ultimately, the trailer doesn’t tell us much more about the movie, aside from Sarah Connor saying, “Everything’s changed” (no duh) and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 facing off against his CG-animated younger self.
You have to wonder if “Pops” has his alternate timeline stored in his memory drives, so that when he tells Sarah, “I’ll be back” before jumping out of a helicopter—because we have to amp up one of cinema’s best-known catchphrases—he knows what he’s saying.
Terminator: Genisys comes to theaters July 1.
